Ancient Hindu Tantric Texts have classified women in four distinct categories or types, depending upon the most distinct or differentiating inborn traits commonly found in women
Padmini or Lotus- woman- This type of woman is soft, tender and beautiful and has a soft smooth and flawless complexion. She wears expensive clothes and jewellery.
Chatrini or Art- woman –She is of medium built, lean and has an artistic temperament. She is found of pleasure and all those things which are artistic in nature.
Shankhini or Conch-woman –She is well built and has a fiery temperament. She can be rude and heartless. She is a passionate and domineering woman, prone to sudden bursts of passion.
Hastini.or Elephant woman – She is thick limbed and has no prejudices, is easy to please and requires a lot of sexual activity to please her. She can be coarse and rough.
